About Dr. Rebecca Davis of Alpine Medical Group

I was born and raised in Virginia which is where I graduated from college at Randolph-Macon College. My love for medicine grew during my time in undergraduate when I was employed as a scribe in the local emergency room and volunteered as an EMT-Basic with the rescue squad and as a medical assistant with the free health clinic. Following college, I moved to Washington, D.C. to attend George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences for medical school and joined the U.S. Army. I subsequently moved to Fort Moore (previously known as Fort Benning), Georgia to attend family medicine internship and residency. Following residency graduation, the U.S. Army luckily stationed me at Fort Wainwright, Alaska following in the footsteps of my sweet husband who had been stationed at Fort Greely the year before and was then transferred to Fort Wainwright the same year as my arrival. For the past four years, I have worked at Bassett Army Community Hospital as a family medicine physician in the outpatient primary care clinic and the maternal-newborn unit functioning as a newborn hospitalist (my favorite Army job!).

I have many interests in primary care to include preventative care, acute care, newborn health, obesity medicine, contraceptive and women’s health, management of type 2 diabetes, procedures and many more. As a physician, I identify my role as my patient’s health consultant by taking their personal health history, family medical history, social history, and health goals into account to provide them with safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based recommendations. I strive to make my patients as healthy as possible, and I work hard to address the underlying health issue in hopes of preventing, decreasing and/or limiting the dependence on medication. I value and respect patient autonomy and view our physician-patient relationship as a team that is built upon mutual respect and trust.

Ultimately, I hope to create long-term primary care relationships where I can care for the same patients for many years to come. When I am not working, I love to spend as much time as possible with my husband and son. We enjoy spending time outside all year long whether that be hiking, fishing, running, cross-country skiing, following my husband in his outdoor pursuits (trapping and hunting) or going to a local brewery or restaurant. My other interests include reading (currently on a psychological thriller fad) and being physically active with local work out classes, 5Ks, walking Creamer’s Field trails with friends, etc.
